We are continuing to closely monitor the coronavirus situation (now named COVID-19).  The California Department of Public Health is not recommending the cancellation of public events at this time.  They stated that there is no evidence of sustained person-to-person transmission of the virus in the United States. The health risk from COVID-19 to the general public remains low at this time.

As of today, Monterey County  health officials report there are no cases of coronavirus in Monterey County.  On the Monterey.org/coronavirus website, they stated “The City of Monterey is taking every precaution available to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus in our community.

Additionally, screening of incoming passengers at Los Angeles International (LAX) and San Francisco International (SFO) -- is ongoing, per the California Department of Public Health.

That said, the 45th FMHAC Annual Conference will move forward as planned.  We are also working with the Hyatt Regency Monterey to ensure that they are taking proactive efforts to prevent the spread of any virus for that matter.
